The facility upgrades are ...

The facility upgrades are great! The exterior buildings and room facelift gives everything a fresh feel. JB's Boathouse onsite restaurant feels like a hidden gem because there is limited signage, then this big multi-level new space with solid food and a well-maintained buffet. We came in the off season for a Spring Break getaway. While lake-based activities are limited this time of year, Timber Falls indoor water park is an affordable way to spend a day. We still were able to walk along the docks and feed ducks. The new Landshark restaurant will open soon and looks great, including new outdoor pool area. I was worried about going due to the mixed reviews. I give it 5 stars due to the value. Per night, the cost is similar to a regular hotel without all of the amenities in walking distance. Bring your walking shoes, as there are many buildings built on the slope next to the lake

a lot of pros....a lot of cons....

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days during a work conference. Let me start off by saying that thankfully the company paid for the rooms, because $120 a night for an off season to this place is kind of high. With this being said, let me share our experience....We stayed in the "D" building, which I'm guessing is the armpit of the property, because there are no elevators and no way to use a luggage cart.....and expect to climb up and down not only stairs every time you leave the room, but every time you need to go to your vehicle, you have to walk uphill.....oh, and did I mention that the parking is scarce?!?! So...expect to walk about a mile or so UPHILL roundtrip to fetch your luggage and walk up & down stairs when you get there. This is certainly not a place for the handicapped, the elderly, those with heart conditions, those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.... I guess if you're a newby here, ask for a room in building "A", or possibly "B"....I think those might be for those I mentioned. I'm not sure if they cost more, but it wouldn't surprise me. On the flipside, I can see this being fun for kids since there is a waterpark, a swimming pool, etc... the room we did have was pretty nice. We got one of the newly remodeled rooms, the shower was nice, the beds were awesome!!! our room was also equipped with a fridge, and everything was pretty clean
