Tan-Tar-A Continues Renovations
Renovation work is continuing at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Golf Club, Marina and Indoor Waterpark, the Lake of the Ozarks' premier resort. All 144 guest rooms in the main building, Building A, have been renovated as well as the main lobby and Mr. D's Lounge.
Thirty tons of midwestern stone went into the massive, double-sided fireplace that draws your attention as soon as you walk in our front door. Stone accents are carried throughout the lobby decor. Innovative pods have replaced the Front Desk and the Guest Services Desk, with our friendly staff ready to check you in to your guest room or answer any questions.
Mr. D's, our lobby bar, now is the new location of our gourmet coffee shop. Sip a mocha latte, snack on a delicious breakfast pastry, or dive into a fruit and yogurt parfait, while watching multiple HD television screens in a relaxing setting. Lunch sandwiches and salads are also available. Later in the day, gather with your friends and co-workers around the cozy firepit on Windgate Plaza while enjoying a beverage of your choice.
Additional renovations to Windgate Hall, the resort's 30,000-square-footexhibit area, have been completed. The updated exhibit hall now is more suitable as a multi-purpose meetings and events area, providing groups flexible options for meetings and conventions.
"Initial feedback from our guests has been one of excitement for our new look," said Fred Dehner, Tan-Tar-A general manager. "We believe our large guest rooms will be popular with our diverse clientele of group and family travelers. Whether they need room to work, or just relax, our rooms give them luxurious, modern comfort during their stay at our full-service resort."
Guest rooms on all eight floors of the main building feature two king-size beds along with a sleeper sofa. Modern furnishings, fixtures, and amenities in the rooms include new mattresses, crisp linens and bedding, and flat-screen high-definition televisions, in addition to updated modern decor. All guestrooms in the main building feature private balconies with a view of beautiful Lake of the Ozarks and the resort's marina. The remaining guest rooms on the resort complex have new flat-screen high-definition televisions, new bedding, and artwork.
A new fiber optic network has been installed, which will increase bandwidth in the resort's meeting spaces and guest rooms to ensure maximum productivity and networking for resort guests.
The Oaks, Tan-Tar-A's 18-hole championship golf course, received attention as well, with new sod on the driving range, new bunkers and updated restrooms on the course.
